Why does moisture collect on the inside of my Refrigerator or Freezer?

It is normal for the rate of frost buildup or “sweating” inside your Refrigerator or Freezer to increase when the weather is hot or humid. Other reasons you might see moisture inside your Refrigerator or Freezer can include:
  • The doors aren’t completely closed.
  • Warm air has entered after the doors have been opened frequently.
  • Uncovered food containers or very warm food has been placed inside the Refrigerator or Freezer, causing condensation.
If moisture collects in Refrigerator drawers, routinely clean out old fruits and vegetables. If your Refrigerator has an adjustable humidity control, you can also try moving this to a lower setting.
